Women in Energy has been instrumental in my career development at Columbia SIPA. When I arrived, unsure of opportunities in the energy sector, WIE provided support from the start. It’s impact has been transformative, shaping my career and I’m grateful for the opportunities it opened and the supportive community it builds.

Michelle So-Hyun Ahn MPA candidate, Energy & Environment, Columbia SIPA

Women in Energy offers valuable resources for professional growth. The weekly newsletter showcases a curated selection of job opportunities within the energy sector, and I personally credit it for helping me secure my own current position.

Maya Lameche BA, Sustainability Development, Columbia Climate School

The Women in Energy award was instrumental in making my internship at Carbon Quest, Inc. possible. It provided me with the financial support and encouragement I needed to pursue an internship in the energy sector.

Munkhtsetseg Baasansuren MS candidate, Sustainability Management, Columbia SPS

As a woman development practitioner, I am finding great support from Women in Energy at CGEP by learning from peer students, through events, and learning from real-world decision makers. I think listening and learning are great ways to find creative solutions to pressing problems.

Sally Schuster MPA candidate, Development Practice, Columbia SIPA

My internship on the biodiversity task force at UNIDO, for which I am a recipient of a WIE stipend, has given me access to knowledge on the agro-food, textile, and pharmaceutical industries – inspiring my senior thesis.

Francesca Gamba BA candidate, Sustainable Development, Columbia Climate School

The Women in Energy leadership has offered me mentorship and recruitment opportunities, pairing me with senior executives.

Odinakachukwu Nkeonyesoya Ezeobele EMPA graduate, Columbia SIPA

Thanks to Women in Energy, I received a stipend for my summer internship with Cella Mineral Storage, a pioneering CDR project developer focusing on carbon mineralization.

Nicklaus Smith MA graduate, Climate & Society, Columbia Climate School

Women in Energy events provided a platform to connect with a tribe of like-minded women professionals, some of whom had already navigated similar transitions.

Manasi Gupta MPA candidate, Environmental Sciences & Policy, Columbia SIPA
