Program Director, Women in Energy
Women in Energy, nested in the Center on Global Energy Policy at Columbia SIPA, advances an inclusive energy workforce by expanding the talent pipeline and promoting evidence-based practices that improve workplace culture. All gender identities are welcome to participate in WIE as our programming seeks to advance that vision.
The Center on Global Energy Policy’s Women in Energy (WIE) initiative envisions a world where there is equal gender representation at every level within the energy sector.

Our mission is to increase the number of women who access, enter, and ultimately lead the energy sector by advancing research, facilitating entry into the industry, and supporting professional growth.
Women represent nearly half of the global workforce, yet women only hold one in five jobs in the energy sector. Representation is lower in senior leadership roles, where persistent structural barriers limit participation.
Closing this gender gap is critical to building a more innovative, resilient, and equitable energy system.

WIE will conduct, publish, and share research on diversity, equity, and inclusion in the energy workforce to better inform industry leaders, improve energy workplaces, and bring more women into the sector.
WIE will increase the knowledge and access of graduates from Columbia University and nearby universities and colleges to help position more diverse and skilled candidates to enter the energy workforce.
WIE will build and share resources to enable professional women in the workforce to tackle the energy transition and advance their careers.
