The Center on Global Energy Policy at Columbia University SIPA’s Women in Energy initiative invites Columbia University students to a roundtable discussion with Pam Brown, Managing Director at The Michaelis Group.
This student-only roundtable will offer an opportunity to engage directly with Pam, a seasoned career coach and leadership expert, for an interactive conversation about navigating the job market, making career decisions, and positioning yourself for what comes next.
The energy sector is changing quickly, and so is the broader job market. Whether you are exploring your first role after graduation, considering a career pivot, or trying to figure out how to stand out in a competitive market, this conversation will provide practical guidance you can apply to your own career.
Topics will include:
- How to approach your job search when the economy and hiring landscape are changing
- How to identify and communicate the skills and experiences that set you apart
- How to network more effectively and build relationships that can lead to opportunities
- How to strengthen your personal marketing, including your resume, LinkedIn presence, and professional story
- How international students can navigate questions around OPT and work authorization during the job search
- How to think strategically about your next career move, rather than simply applying to more jobs
This will be an interactive conversation, with plenty of time for students to ask questions and get advice relevant to their own career goals.
Admission is subject to venue capacity, approval by CGEP, and may be prioritized for individuals who have previously participated in or engaged with our programs and events.
